#HOWLFROMYOURHEART THIS GIVING DAY

Giving Day is an opportunity for all members of the Western Oregon University community to provide support for campus programs, funds, scholarships, organizations, and clubs. Each gift, no matter its size, makes a difference and provides critical resources for the university, enabling deeper and more meaningful campus experiences for countless current and future students, faculty, and staff.

Tuesday, March 4, 2025, is a day for everyone – alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Western Oregon University – to #HowlfromtheHeart and build a brighter present and future for WOU.

Support the Wolves Cross Country and Track & Field Programs

Western Oregon University Track & Field has built itself into a perennial GNAC contender on both the Men’s and Women’s side and in indoor and outdoor competition. The Wolves come into this season defending four new individual titles in the GNAC Track and Field Championships. Senior Mark Warren won the men’s hammer throw for WOU for the first time since 2007, while freshman Brennen Murphy took home the title for the 400 with a PR and the fourth-fastest time in WOU history. Senior Madeline Lambing took the 400 hurdles with a PR and the second-fastest time in WOU history, and senior Amity Deters became the first WOU female athlete to win the high jump since 2004. Both the men’s and the women’s teams took third place in GNAC championships.

WOU Track & Field athletes excel in the classroom as well, with the men’s team having a cumulative GPA of 3.11, and the women’s having one of 3.42. Seventeen Wolves were named to the GNAC All-Academic Men’s Track and Field Team, while a GNAC-best 22 Wolves were named to the All-Academic Women’s Team.

The future is bright for Track & Field at Western Oregon University, and your gift helps to make that future even brighter. Help us reach our Giving Day goal of $2,500. Funds from Giving Day will help to pay for travel costs and new equipment for both teams.
