Giving Day is an opportunity for all members of the Western Oregon University community to provide support to campus programs, funds, scholarships, organizations, and clubs. Each donation makes a difference and provides needed resources to the university, enabling deeper and more meaningful campus experiences for countless current and future students, faculty, and staff. Tuesday, March 5, 2024, is a day for alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Western Oregon University to #HowlfromtheHeart and build a brighter present and future for WOU!

The Smith Fine Arts Series is the mid-Willamette Valley’s premiere series for world-renowned performing art and artists. Now in its 46th season, the Smith Fine Arts Series brings visionary, extraordinary performing artists to the campus of Western Oregon University. These artists give breathtaking performances and engage, teach, and inspire students through their art and artistry. From bluegrass and americana to eclectic jazz, from blues to folk to modern dance, and everything in between, the Smith Fine Arts Series brings music and dance alive for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Help us reach our goal of $15,000 this year to continue to bring the best of the performing arts to Western Oregon University. Your gift will help sustain the Smith Fine Arts Series, ensuring that Western Oregon University remains a destination for the very best the world of performing arts has to offer.
The Smith Fine Arts Series is curated in collaboration with the board and staff by Dr. Dirk Freymuth, a WOU music professor and professional musician. Season programming includes world-class performances across a variety of musical genres, as well as dance, from cultures around the world. Artists travel from across the US and beyond to perform here on campus, often sharing their talents and knowledge with students of all ages and the wider community through free educational outreach sessions.
