Giving Day is an opportunity for all members of the Western Oregon University community to provide support for campus programs, funds, scholarships, organizations, and clubs. Each gift, no matter its size, makes a difference and provides critical resources for the university, enabling deeper and more meaningful campus experiences for countless current and future students, faculty, and staff.
Tuesday, March 4, 2025, is a day for everyone – alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Western Oregon University – to #HowlfromtheHeart and build a brighter present and future for WOU.
Your Gift Supports
Scholarships are vital for student enrollment and academic success. Last year, the Foundation awarded over $1M in scholarships to deserving WOU students, and these scholarships are essential for many Western students who would otherwise be unable to attend college without them.
Half of Western students are the first in their family to attend college, and 40% are from low-income families that display exceptional financial need. In spite of the fact that it is one of the most affordable universities in Oregon, over 80% of WOU students rely on scholarships, grants, and other forms of financial aid to help them pay for their education.
The scholarship fund offers students who meet GPA and enrollment requirements the opportunity to apply for scholarships that not only help them stay in school but do so without accruing additional debt. Your gift to the scholarship fund helps students to offset the cost of their education, complete their degrees, and make a positive impact in their communities. Gifts to this fund make a tremendous impact in the lives of WOU students and their families.
