Giving Day is an opportunity for all members of the Western Oregon University community to provide support for campus programs, funds, scholarships, organizations, and clubs. Each gift, no matter its size, makes a difference and provides critical resources for the university, enabling deeper and more meaningful campus experiences for countless current and future students, faculty, and staff.
Tuesday, March 4, 2025, is a day for everyone – alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Western Oregon University – to #HowlfromtheHeart and build a brighter present and future for WOU.
Your Gift Supports
The Earth Science Academic Fund is a scholarship endowment that will provide scholarships for deserving Earth and Environmental Science students at Western Oregon University. Help us reach our goal of $5,000, which will keep us on track to fully endow this scholarship by 2026!
Despite the fact that it is one of the most affordable universities in Oregon, over 80% of WOU students rely on scholarships, grants, and other forms of financial aid to help them pay for their education. Endowed scholarships like the Earth Science Academic Fund help students to offset the cost of their education and continue on their degree path. Your gift to the Earth Science Academic Fund will make an enormous impact in the lives of students and their families.
Students in the Earth and Environmental Science program engage in coursework, labwork, and field work in the field of geoscience that emphasizes the scientific method and problem solving. Graduates from the program go on to careers in geoscience, education, environmental management, and natural hazards mitigation. They are also prepared to be community leaders in the areas of sustainability and environmental stewardship in Oregon and beyond.
