#HOWLFROMYOURHEART THIS GIVING DAY
Giving Day is an opportunity for all members of the Western Oregon University community to provide support for campus programs, funds, scholarships, organizations, and clubs. Each gift, no matter its size, makes a difference and provides critical resources for the university, enabling deeper and more meaningful campus experiences for countless current and future students, faculty, and staff.
Tuesday, March 4, 2025, is a day for everyone – alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Western Oregon University – to #HowlfromtheHeart and build a brighter present and future for WOU.

The Women's Cross Country team won the annual Mike Johnson Classic this past fall besting conference team Northwest Nazarene 23-38. The Women finished 6th at the conference championship and 17th at the West Regional Championship led by Sophomore Kyla Potratz. The Women return 7 of the top 10 Women that ran at Conference and some key returners that missed the Fall season due to injury. With a very talented incoming class the Women look to make jumps among the conference and region. This indoor season the distance squad is already contributing to the track program with many WOU All-Time Top 10 Performances.
The Men's Cross Country team saw massive improvements this fall finishing 4th at GNACs with a tiebreaker win over Central Washington and 12th at the West Regional meet. Junior Logan Parker finished with All-GNAC accolades finishing 8th overall and both Parker and Jordan Kemper finished in the top 45 of the West Region. The Men return 9 of the top 10 racers from the GNAC championships next year along with one of the deepest recruiting classes to date for the Fall of 2025. The distance squad has already contributed top 10 WOU All-Time marks indoors along with a likely National Qualifier for the Indoor National meet from Sophomore Isaiah Rodriguez in the 800.
Both teams were All-USTFCCCA All-Academic once again, with the Men boasting a 3.65 cumulative GPA in the Fall and the Women finishing with a 3.58.
This year on Giving Day, Wolves Cross Country is aiming to raise $2500. Funds will be used to purchase three new machines that would help improve the performance of their student athletes, and further funds will go towards the annual Cross Country Team Camp.
